It is in playing and only in playing that the individual child or adult is able to be creative and to use the whole personality, and it is only in being creative that the individual discovers the self.

D.W. Winnicott

As a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, I provide a safe space for reflection. Working together, we can address beliefs and entrenched patterns that may be hindering you from achieving your goals.  My analytic training makes me a skilled and attentive listener to your narrative, helping to identify themes and connections that lead to insight and new understanding. My training and experience working with parents and young children enables me to better understand your early development and relationships, and how they may be impacting your present day self.   With time, your new found awareness will lead to change.

Feelings and memories are not only expressed through language.  As a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, I am mindful of the ways in which symptoms and feelings are being held and expressed in the body.  Contrary to our culture of instant gratification, this work takes time. As we learn to pay attention to the body, greater relief from anxiety, trauma, and depression can be realized.
