Family Consultation

Life is not what it's supposed to be.  It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Virginia Satire, Family Therapist

At times, children and adolescents need more help  gaining an understanding of the feelings, thoughts and behaviors with which they're struggling.  Anxieties, depression, and academic and socialization challenges  may come on the heels of difficult events in the family, such as divorce, illness, and trauma.

In my work with children, I use both play therapy and cognitive behavioral techniques.

I work holistically, taking into account the needs of all family members , collaborating closely with parents on the best ways to help the family find relief and become better adjusted.

In the event of separation, I specialize in navigating the practical challenges of two-party parenting.  With an attention  focused on the best interests of the child, potentially charged negotiations such as scheduling and custody struggles are made more manageable with a reduction in conflict.
